not good for balance

Every so often, my body finds it necessary to remind me forcefully that it is important for me to eat and drink on a regular basis. Today, the reminder came while attempting a short (< 2 mi.) bike ride involving a steep hill.

Interestingly, the symptoms are identical to those I get while having blood drawn: dizziness, nausea, blurred vision with swarming dots, loss of color vision, full-body tingling. An odd and not terribly pleasant state to be in… a few glasses of water cured it today, but I think that it wouldn’t be a good idea to skip more meals in the near future.

For the record, I really am ok; this isn’t anything to worry about. It’s just that I didn’t eat yesterday, more because I wasn’t paying attention than for any other reason, and hunger has never been a strong enough factor that I am unable to completely ignore it when distracted.
